The aim of Specialist Support Coordination is to optimise participants' ability to manage their NDIS supports and achieve their goals while ensuring their overall well-being.
Specialist Support Coordination is a service provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia. It is designed for participants with complex needs who require more intensive assistance to navigate and coordinate their supports. At the core is registered to provide coordination of supports.
Specialist Support Coordinators are experienced professionals who have expertise in working with individuals with complex needs, such as those with multiple disabilities or significant mental health issues.
At the Core will only consider referral for level 3 Specialist Support Coordination.

The role of a Specialist Support Coordinator includes:
Coordination and planning
They help participants develop their NDIS plan and identify the supports and services they need. They collaborate with the participant, their families, and other providers to ensure the plan aligns with their goals and needs
Building capacity and resilience
They work with participants to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to manage their own supports. This may include connecting them with training programs or support groups.
Support connection
They assist participants in finding and connecting with suitable service providers, ensuring they have access to the right supports. This may involve researching and identifying appropriate services or organisations.
Crisis intervention
Specialist Support Coordinators are equipped to respond in crisis situations, providing guidance and support to participants and their families. They can help manage critical incidents and ensure that appropriate services are accessed promptly.
Advocacy and advice
They act as advocates for participants, helping them navigate complex systems and ensuring their rights and needs are respected. They offer advice and guidance on available options and rights
